Our museum is equipped with a variety of modern technologies that allow you to deeply immerse yourself in the world of Norwegian fairy tales and give you a completely new museum concept. Immersive rooms, holographic fans, interactive exhibits – these are just some of the technologies we use to make your visit thrilling and unique!
Thanks to touch screens, tablets, and audio guides, the process of learning about Norse mythology and folklore is much more interesting and memorable. You will hardly notice how much you’ve learned, and yet, by the end of your visit, you’ll have become a true expert in trolls and Norwegian fairy tales.
We would like to especially highlight the Augmented Reality (AR) technology, which is already in use at the museum and which we plan to continue expanding on.
Augmented Reality, commonly known as AR, is one of the biggest technology trends right now and it is only going to get bigger in the coming years. It is the process of using technology to superimpose animations, images, text, or sounds on top of what a person can already see. In practice, Augmented Reality technology allows you to add new virtual creatures and objects to your surroundings.
We use tablets with AR to bring you animated fairy tale characters that you will not find anywhere else.
Note that you don’t need any special equipment of your own, since our tablets are already installed and available free of charge.
On top of that, we have also applied the same AR technology to our own souvenirs, so that you may take an AR version of any troll you like home with you! See the Souvenirs section for more information.
